Hearth & Lemon Reserve

Glendale · Wood-fired Mediterranean

Dinner by the fire.

A small room, a big oven, and a menu that changes with what's good at the Thursday market. Mezze to share, lamb from the coals, and natural wine poured generously.

We cook the way our grandmothers did in Beirut and Yerevan — slowly, over fire, with too much lemon and not nearly enough restraint.

Our story

Two kitchens, one fire

"My mother is from Beirut, my father from Yerevan. They argued about food for forty years. This restaurant is the argument, settled."

Chef Nareh Haroutunian opened Hearth & Lemon in 2023 after a decade in kitchens in Los Angeles and Marseille. The oven was built by hand from Armenian tuff stone; the recipes were built over a lifetime of Sunday lunches.

Everything comes from within a few hours of Glendale: lamb from the Central Valley, produce from the Thursday farmers market down the street, bread from our own oven every afternoon.
